Simona Maschi is a co-founder and Director of the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID), a globally recognised centre for design education, applied research, and innovation. Her work bridges education and practice, applying service, interaction, and scenario design to real-world challenges across healthcare, mobility, food systems, housing, ageing, and impact finance.

With nearly three decades of experience, she has shaped design education as a tool for systemic change—working with designers, startups, global companies, public institutions, and city governments. Simona has been a visiting scholar at the Institute of Design at IIT Chicago, an associate professor at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, served on the IxDA Interaction Awards jury, and is a member of the Ashoka Venture Board Denmark.
